2025 Program
Welcome to the Tic Toc TEN Short Performance Festival of 2025!
The Tic Toc TEN Short Performance festival is presented to you by Abbey Thiessen & Gabrielle Dufresne. We acknowledge that the land in which this festival is performed and filmed is Treaty 4 land, Homeland of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation.
This festival was created for emerging and established Saskatchewan artists to create new works of their own, and to push through the challenges of creating theatre and get it out into the world. We believe it is so important to lift and share the immense talent we have, here in Saskatchewan. We welcome each and every one of you, and thank you for supporting your local artists.
At a time with so much uncertainty in the air, remember that art is resistance, art is community.
We hope you enjoy the shows!

Lyudmila Times Three: A Play for Peace reflects the current Russia-Ukraine war. The play takes a pro-Ukraine perspective, but the desired end is not just victory for Ukraine, but peace for all, including the invaders. This idea is developed through glimpses into three historical moments, including the present, during which Ukraine—represented by three different women named Lyudmila (all played by the same actor)—has passionately defended its homeland and, in the end, laid down its weapons for peace.
*The participation of Clare Middleton is arranged by permission of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association under the provision of the Dance Opera Theatre Policy.
Lyudmila Times Three: A Play for Peace adapts elements from Ruslan and Lyudmila, by Alexander Pushkin; Lady Death by Lyudmila Pavlichenko; and Our Enemies Will Vanish by Yaroslav Trofimov.
All-Terrain Theatre thanks SK Arts for their support for our show.

At a mob boss’s funeral it is revealed to the audience that the two funeral directors are actually the people who murdered the mob boss. As the two posing funeral directors discuss their regrets about murdering their boss, they recall happier moments before the murder. While they are greeted with the guilt and realization that they have done the unspeakable for money to a person whom they truly cared about, they must now worry about how they themselves will continue to survive

In this preview of Shelf Life, a larger-scale work-in-progress, we witness how childhood trauma has the power to shape our understanding of certainty and belonging. Through personal anecdotes from her spiritual journey, our narrator questions what happens when the very institution that promises healing begins to feel like another wound. This intimate piece weaves together religious imagery and lived experience to explore healing, authenticity, and the courage it takes to finally trust yourself.

Dash Reimer
Join Dash Reimer as he uses spoken word poetry, hip hop, a guitar and a loop pedal to bring you on a journey as we explore all those cycles that we just can’t seem to escape. In its base form ‘you’ve seen this show before’ is a ~50 minute show about the cycles we’re stuck in, hope in an absurd world and caring for each other regardless. The show uses scripted poems, freestyle and multiple instruments in its entirety.
However, this special snippet of the overall show acts as a small taste of the arc of the show. The poems featured in this Tic Toc Ten special center around the cycles of family, genealogy and pain in a body dealing with chronic health issues.
